Hopkins County sees no new cases of COVID-19, no new deaths

Hopkins County saw no new cases of COVID-19 from Wednesday to Friday and no new deaths were reported during an update Friday.

Public Health Director Denise Beach says it’s been a good week for Hopkins County, with cases remaining at 216—the same as Wednesday’s update—with 140 of those individuals recovered.  Beach says the sacrifices the community has been making to stay healthy are working.

She says about 20 of the county’s 27 deaths were in a long term care facility.

Hopkins County was hit hard by coronavirus only a few weeks ago, and Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton urged people to keep up those new habits so the community can keep moving forward from here.

They urged business owners and community members to check the health guidelines frequently at healthyatwork.ky.gov, as those measures are updating daily.
