NFL

The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed today to terms with journeyman quarterback Mike Glennon, giving them a veteran backup behind Gardner Minshew. The 30-year-old Glennon has completed 61% of his passes for 5,163 yards, with 36 touchdowns and 20 interceptions, in 29 games over seven NFL seasons. Glennon played with the Oakland Raiders last season.

NBA

Mike Storen, who began the Indiana Pacers and once was a part owner, president and general manager of the Kentucky Colonels and later served as ABA commissioner has died of complications from a rare form of cancer at age 84. He was also an NBA team executive and the father of ESPN anchor Hannah Storm.

Horse Racing

The Preakness will remain a fixture at timeworn Pimlico Race Course, which will receive a much-needed facelift following the passing of a bill to redevelop Maryland tracks. Governor Larry Hogan on Thursday permitted a bill to become law that would enable the Maryland Stadium Authority to issue up to $375 million in bonds to refurbish Pimlico and Laurel Park.

The money would be paid back by the Maryland Lottery and casino proceeds already designated to subsidize the racing industry. This year’s Preakness was scheduled for May 16 but was postponed because of the pandemic. A new date has not yet been set.

Golf

Golf Digest reports CBS Sports will not be carrying a 12 noon Central time NFL game on Sunday November, 15th which is currently scheduled to be the same day as the final round of The Masters. The golf tournament was cancelled in April due to the pandemic and moved to the November 12-15 dates. CBS is the rights holder to The Masters.
