A Paducah attorney has been appointed to the Kentucky Court of Appeals 1st District seat formerly held by Judge Shea Nickell.
Governor Andy Beshear appointed McCracken County public defender Chris McNeil to serve through the general election.
The seat became vacant when Judge Nickell was elected to serve western Kentucky on the state Supreme Court last year.
