Hopkins County has one new COVID-19 death

There has only been one new case of COVID-19 since Wednesday in Hopkins County, but there has been another death.

Public Health Director Denise Beach says the county’s 25th fatality is a senior adult and she sent condolences to their family. Hopkins County has had 213 total cases and 99 have been connected to long-term care facilities.

The number of new cases this week has been less than earlier in the pandemic and Beach is encouraging residents to continue to look out for themselves and to be safe as different parts of the economy reopens.

At least 127 of Hopkins County’s 213 cases have recovered.

This year’s Friday Night Live, 4th Fest and Praise in the Park events have been canceled, but all of the performers—Craig Morgan, Bret Michaels, En Vogue and Zach Williams—have agreed to reschedule for 2021.
