Following the college basketball recruiting scandal in 2017, the University of Louisville fired everyone involved in it. Why did the Cardinals program maintain its ties with Adidas, also mentioned in the scandal?
The Courier Journal reports U of L athletics director Vince Tyra as saying said he met with senior representatives from Adidas soon after he got the job and the “rogue employees” from Adidas involved with the scheme haven’t impacted the relationship between the parties. U of L signed a $10 million contract extension with Adidas in 2017 that runs through the 2027-28 school year. U of L received a notice of allegations from the NCAA Monday concerning the 2017 scandal.
