Hopkinsville man charged with Tennessee robbery

A Hopkinsville man has been arrested in connection with an alleged robbery in Tennessee.

Hopkinsville police arrested 21-year old Trequan Taylor Tuesday night as a fugitive from another state. The Tennessee warrant for aggravated robbery alleges that on April 16, Taylor met a man on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Clarksville under the pretense of buying an iPhone that had been posted for sale online.

As Taylor looked over the phone, he asked the victim to see the paperwork in the box. The warrant says that when the victim looked back at Taylor after retrieving the papers, Taylor grabbed a handgun under his shirt and said “bye” without rendering payment.

Taylor fled with phone, which was later recovered from Taylor by Metro Nashville police during a separate incident.

Police say the victim was able to identify Taylor in a photo lineup as the man who robbed him.
