NFL

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with cornerback Johnathan Joseph. The former Houston Texan signed a one year deal today. Financial compensation was not disclosed. Joseph ranks fourth among active NFL players for career interceptions and leads all active NFL cornerbacks in career tackles. Joseph is a two time Pro Bowl selection.

Horse Racing

The Maryland Jockey Club and NBC Sports have set aside three possible dates for the running of the Preakness Stakes, a person with knowledge of negotiations said.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity today because no decision has been made among the dates. The NBC affiliate in Baltimore reported the Preakness will be run October 3rd. The person tells The AP that is one of the three possible dates, along with one each in July and August. There’s been no word about the date for the Belmont Stakes, but the Kentucky Derby will be run September 5th at Churchill Downs.

Tennis

The head of the Australian Open says various contingency plans are being considered for the Grand Slam tournament scheduled for January 2021. They include scrapping it altogether because of the coronavirus pandemic or allowing just spectators from the host country. Meanwhile, a decision on this year’s US Open in New York is expected in June.
