Sen. Paul says federal government can’t afford more COVID relief measures

U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Bowling Green doesn’t expect state governments to receive financial relief for their ailing budgets from the federal government.

In an interview with WHOP News, Senator Paul talks about his own COVID-19 diagnosis and says he never experienced any symptoms.

Governors across the country are asking for Congress to approve another stimulus package to help states make up for revenue lost to the pandemic, but Senator Paul doesn’t believe there’s Republican support.

Some elective surgeries will be allowed to resume Wednesday in Kentucky, but Senator Paul believes Governor Andy Beshear should have allowed decisions on restrictions to be made at a local level since the beginning.

Senator Paul is hopeful a vaccine for COVID-19 will be found in the not too distant future and also has hope for successful anti-viral medications.
