The Montreal Gazette recently reported a former groundskeeper as saying all-time hits leader Pete Rose allegedly corked his bat while playing with the Montreal Expos in 1984. Joe Jammer says Rose had his bats corked in the visitors clubhouse. Rose played 95 games for the Expos before being traded to the Cincinnati Reds where he began his career. Rose was banned from baseball for betting on games in 1989.
