Public library to start ‘curbside service’ on May 11th

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Library will begin offering curbside service for patrons starting on May 11.

The public library has been closed since March 18 in accordance with executive orders and according to a news release, curbside pickup will provide patrons the opportunity to place specific materials on-hold, either through the on-line catalog option available from the HCCPL website or by speaking to a library staff member.  To place an ‘order’, participants can call the library at 270-887-4262, using extension 1 or 2, and place material on-hold, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Requests can also be made by logging into the HCCPL on-line catalog at hccpl.sirsi.net. In order to access the on-line catalog, patrons must have their library card and PIN number. All material requests will be available the following day from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. and will be held for two days. Material not picked up after two days will be removed from hold and placed back on the shelf.

Requested on-hold material will be available for curbside pickup Monday-Friday, between the hours of 12 noon and 4 p.m. If the requested materials are not available, patrons may request a general genre. HCCPL staff will use their best judgement in choosing materials to complete the order.
