The winningest coach in NFL history died this morning. Don Shula-who coached the undefeated Miami Dolphins to the 1972 NFL championship-passed away at age 90. Shula won an NFL-record 347 games. He coached the Dolphins in five Super Bowl appearances-winning back to back Super Bowls-and for the Baltimore Colts when they lost to the New York Jets in Super Bowl III. Shula was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1997 and along with George Halas are the only coaches in NFL history to win more than 300 games. Before his success in the NFL, he was an assistant coach for Blanton Collier at the University of Kentucky.
