The Gateway Academy’s VEX Robotics Team 8349 has been declared state champions for a second consecutive season.
They are also the state skills champion, according to Christian County Public School System Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, who says Gateway Team 8349K is the State Design Award Winner for the Best Engineering Notebook and Robot Design.
This year’s champions were determined by calculating statistics from the competitive season.
Team 8349E consists of McKay Dunn, Calvin Demps, Danny Macario, and Eric Barrett.
Team 8349K is comprised of Will Knight, Yeffrey Macario, John Tyler Schmitt, and Jarod Pogue.
