Todd County health director gives COVID-19 update

Todd County Public Health Director Jen Harris gave an update on COVID-19 during a Facebook Live session Saturday afternoon.

Harris says Todd County remains at 13 confirmed cases—with three of those active and 10 patients have recovered.

She reminded area residents that good hygiene practices will become even more important to prevent the spread of the virus as Kentucky transitions from being healthy at home to being healthy at work later this month.

Harris has continued with weekly teleconferences with Amish and Mennonite communities and says many of those communities are finding unique ways to worship while avoiding mass gatherings.

She’s urging people to comply with the governor’s request to wear a mask in public, noting it will help prevent you from spreading the virus to others if you’re asymptomatic.
