Two local judges have been appointed to the task forces that are working on planning the reopening of Kentucky’s court systems.
As previously reported, Chief Justice Minton has formed three task forces, one each for circuit, family and district courts. A Supreme Court justice will head each task force, with judges and circuit clerks from throughout the commonwealth serving as its members.
Christian District Judge Foster Cotthoff will serve on the district court task force and Judge Jason Fleming will serve on the family court task force.
Chief Justice Minton issued an order last month closing courts to in-person hearings through May 31 and he says the priority now is a “reopening plan that respects social distancing while allowing greater access to courts.”
