The Housing Authority of Hopkinsville is one of many getting some federal dollars as part of the CARES Act passed by Congress.
According to a news release, more than 100 communities are receiving around $12.5 million in total from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to help counteract the impact of COVID-19. It will be used by the Kentucky Housing Authorities to support prevention and preparation services for their residents, for responding to the coronavirus pandemic in public housing, and supporting the health and safety of assisted individuals and families across the Commonwealth.
The Housing Authority of Hopkinsville is receiving approximately $344,400. The Todd County Housing Authority will receive $36,000, Housing Authority of Madisonville is getting $101,000, Russellville will receive $51,000 and Cadiz will see $41,000.
