Another Hopkins County resident has died from COVID-19 and officials there are preparing for the reopening of the state’s economy.
The death brings the total to 22 in Hopkins County since the pandemic began. There were three new cases from Wednesday to Thursday and there have now been 205 total cases.
Hopkins County Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield says as some aspects of the economy are reopening May 11, good hygiene and social distancing practices will become even more important.
Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton reminds residents that they can still make good choices for themselves and others, no matter what opens.
Officials say 81 of Hopkins County’s COVID-19 cases have recovered.
