Several more miles of US 68 in Trigg County could be a four-lane highway by Memorial Day.
Keith Todd of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says work on the four-lane section from the western US 68 Business entrance to Park Road could be far enough along to see it open by May 25.
The next section heading farther west toward Canton will likely take several more weeks before opening to four lanes in the summer months.
Todd says the entire section of US 68 remains a work zone and motorists should treat it that way by using abundant caution and being on the lookout for construction workers.
Rogers Group is the prime contractor on the $54.2 million design-build project. Construction of the 7-mile-section is about 73 percent complete.
