Hopkinsville High School student Denarius “Red” Barnes has accepted an appointment to the United State Military Academy Preparatory School in West Point.
According to a news release, the mission of USMAPS is to provide academic, military, and physical instruction for admission to and graduation from the United States Military Academy.
Director of Admissions Colonel Deborah McDonald says only outstanding candidates are offered a chance to attend the prep school.
