Submissions now being accepted for Christian Co. art competition

The Pennyroyal Arts Council and the City of Hopkinsville are teaming up to host a county-wide art competition, and submissions are now being accepted.

According to a news release, artists of all mediums and skill levels, aged 18 and older living in the greater Hopkinsville – Christian County area, are encouraged to participate in the free online competition. Entries will be judged within three categories—written word, visual art and original music. There will be a panel of judges and local gift cards will be awarded to the top three works in each category.

Artists of all kinds are being asked to create work based around what gives them hope and inspiration during this historical time. Executive Director Margaret Prim says, “Creativity has never been more important than it is right now. We are so fortunate to live in this beautiful part of the country and be inspired by our surroundings. Acting on your creativity is the perfect outlet for all the emotions of this unprecedented time in our history.”

Detailed eligibility and submission guidelines can be found online at pennyroyalarts.org under the Events tab. Competition entries may be submitted through May 31.
