Local students sign with universities to pursue degrees in music

Although the end of the school year is looking different for seniors in the Christian County School System, that’s not stopping music students from forging ahead with the future.

Multiple music students have accepted offers and signed scholarships for a variety of universities to pursue degrees in music.  From the Christian County Colonel Band is Alex Pritchett, who is accepting a full-tuition offer to the University of Louisville, Jamia Forte, who accepted scholarship at the University of Tennessee at Martin and Briana Barber, who accepted the Roads Scholar Scholarship at Murray State University.

With the Hopkinsville High School Band of Tigers is Jaslyn Rivera, who accepted multiple scholarships to attend Murray State University.  Also with HHS is Jaylon Taggart accepted multiple scholarships to attend Murray State University, where he will pursue degrees in both music and psychology—and Angel Rodriguez has accepted scholarships to attend Murray State University.

With the CCHS Choir is Jullian Morman, who will attend Murray State University and accepted several scholarships, and Chantell Day, who accepted multiple scholarships to attend Murray State University.
