Heritage Christian Academy will honor its class of 2020 with a drive-thru senior parade Friday afternoon and they still plan on holding an in-person graduation and prom when we begin emerging into a new normal.
Jennifer Blanchard of HCA says seniors normally put on their caps and gowns and march through the halls of the school to the applause of other students—but that won’t be possible this year with all schools closed to in-person instruction.
She says families and members of the community can drive through the HCA parking lot between 6 and 7 p.m. Friday and cheer on those 31 socially-distanced seniors from the safety of their vehicles.
HCA still plans on holding a graduation at the Bruce Convention Center at some point, though it will likely look much-different than the packed building Warrior graduates are used to seeing.
Heritage has tentatively rescheduled its prom for June 26 at the Silo Event Center in Hopkinsville. The final day of HCA’s non-traditional instruction is May 19.
