The Las Vegas Raiders chose former Kentucky wide receiver and quarterback Lynn Bowden, Jr. with the 80th pick in the third round last night. Bowden led the Southeastern Conference in rushing yards with 1,468 with almost all of that coming in the final eight games after making the move to quarterback. He caught 30 passes for 348 yards in the first five games before moving to quarterback. Coach Mark Stoops offered comments on Bowden:
Bowden led Kentucky to a come from behind win over Virginia Tech in the Belk Bowl and was also the Paul Hornung Award winner last season. He is the 10th player to be drafted during Stoops tenure as Kentucky coach.
