Hopkins County has two more COVID-19 deaths, 74 patients have recovered

Two more Hopkins County residents have died from COVID-19 and 10 more patients have recovered.

Hopkins County Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield says the two additional deaths brings the total to 19 in Hopkins County since the pandemic began. Two new cases bring the total infected to 171 and 74 patients have recovered.

Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton and Judge Whitfield say expect the numbers of cases to increase soon after over 800 people were tested this week at the Kroger site at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School.

A nurse who has recovered from the coronavirus was a guest on the briefing and urged family and friends of the sick to continue calling and texting them and to also support their families as they can.
