Paving work ramps up on US 68 in Trigg County

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has ramped up asphalt paving along the main line of the U.S. 68 construction corridor in Trigg County.

A news release says motorists traveling U.S. 68 between Canton and Cadiz should use appropriate caution and be alert for increased truck traffic hauling asphalt into the work zone.

This paving is part of the ongoing reconstruction of just under 10 miles of U.S. 68 between mile point Boyd’s Landing Road near Canton extending eastward to near the intersection with U.S. 68-Business at the west edge of Cadiz.

Some sections of the new highway are open with 2-way traffic running on base courses of pavement.

This paving activity along the construction corridor is expected to continue for about two weeks anytime weather allows.
