Madisonville testing site opens Tuesday, pre-registration required

There were six additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 from Thursday to Friday in Hopkins County and officials there discussed the new testing site opening next week in Madisonville.

The new cases bring the total to 116 people who have tested positive. Fifty-nine people have recovered, 48 cases are active and nine people have died.

The governor announced a partnership with the state and Kroger to offer testing to up to 1,000 people next week and Hopkins County Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield says the drive-thru site will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Madisonville-North High School, but you must register in advance.

Only those showing symptoms or individuals who fall into certain other categories can be tested.

You do not have to live in Hopkins County to register for the Madisonville site and the website is krogerhealth.com/covidtesting.
