Area airports receive funding through the CARES Act

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Airport is one of many across the nation that will be receiving emergency funding from the CARES Act—the stimulus relief measure passed by congress.

According to a news release, the local airport will receive $30,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation.  The Federal Aviation Administration will award around $77.2 million in airport aid to 55 airports in Kentucky to help respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The funding will support continuing operations and replace lost revenue resulting from the sharp decline in passenger traffic and other airport business.

Along with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Airport, local airports also receiving funding are Outlaw Field at Fort Campbell, Lake Barkley State Park airport in Cadiz, Madisonville Regional Airport, Princeton-Caldwell County Airport, Russellville-Logan County Airport, and Muhlenberg County Airport.
