The Dispatch reports Nikki McCray-Penson will become the new women’s basketball coach at Mississippi State. McCray-Penson is currently at Old Dominion as head coach and would replace Vic Schaefer, who was hired by Texas last weekend. She was Conference USA’s Women’s Coach of the Year after leading the Monarchs to a 24-9 record this past season and began her coaching career as an assistant at Western Kentucky.
