Hopkins County now has seven deaths related to COVID-19 since the pandemic began and there are now confirmed cases in two nursing homes.
Hopkins County Public Health Director Denise Beach says there are 83 confirmed cases and the most recent death brought the fatality count to seven.
She says the health department is working with those two nursing homes to prevent spread of the virus as much as possible.
Beach says residents are doing a better job of social distancing and flattening the curve, but they will have to keep it up for Hopkins County to not exceed the capacity of its available medical resources.
The best news is that 37 of Hopkins County’s 83 patients have made full recoveries.
