Man arrested after allegedly ramming woman’s car with baby inside

Hopkinsville police arrested a man on multiple charges Thursday night after he allegedly rammed his girlfriend’s vehicle while she had her baby inside.

Officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1700 block of South Main Street and investigation determined 23-year old Tyler Blackwell of Clarksville had been in an argument with his girlfriend when he allegedly damaged several items inside the home.

The victim told police that Blackwell took her phone and threw it when she tried to call for help and that he threatened to punch her teeth in.

When the woman tried to leave with her baby, Blackwell allegedly rammed her car with his vehicle. The victim then ran back inside with her baby and police arrived soon after.

An arrest citation says Blackwell was manifestly under the influence of alcohol when police arrived.

Blackwell is charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, unlawful imprisonment and intimidating a participant in the legal process.
