Additional details have been released on a residential fire in Cadiz from Tuesday afternoon that killed two children.
Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson identifies the victims as three-year old Kamari Harris and seven-month old Ky’nylee Harris. He says an examination by the coroner’s office and an autopsy at the Western Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office determined the siblings died as a result of smoke and other products of combustion inhalation.
As previously reported, firefighters were called to the modular home at 194 Jefferson Street and located the victims during a search of the residence.
Kentucky State Police arrested their mother, 30-year old Keyona Bingham of Cadiz, for two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, as she had allegedly left her children at home unattended during the timeframe the fire began.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
