Two people were shot dead and another was injured in Madisonville Monday morning and a suspect has been arrested.
Madisonville police were called to check the welfare of individuals at 778 Hodge Street about 8:30 a.m.
Arriving officers found 43-year old Elvis Gipson and 40-year old Joseph Gipson on the floor dead from gunshot wounds and 26-year old Gunner Madison with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Madison was taken to Baptist Health Hospital.
Investigation led to the arrest of 36-year old Jeremy Wicks of Madisonville for two counts of murder and one count of first-degree assault. He is also facing several drug-related charges.
A news release says officers were able to recover several pieces of evidence at the scene of the crime.
