Alcohol suspected as factor in injury crash

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night on Mason Street that injured the driver.

It happened a few minutes before 10 p.m. and the report from Hopkinsville police says 46-year old Miguel Talley of Hopkinsville had been northbound on Mason Street when his vehicle collided with a utility pole on the right shoulder.

Talley was found unresponsive and there was an odor of alcohol coming from his person, according to the report. He reportedly admitted to drinking prior to driving after regaining consciousness.

Talley was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries and police say charges are pending after medical treatment is complete.
