An employee of the Christian County Public School System Transportation Department has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Christian County Health Department notified the district of the positive test, according to a news release from the school system, which says the transportation department and maintenance department are being closed indefinitely out of an abundance of caution.
Those closures will not interrupt the district’s efforts to provide and deliver meals to students while schools are closed to in-person instruction. Officials say the meals will be delivered without the use of school buses or the assistance of transportation department employees.
