HCCPL hosting free ‘seed library’ program

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is going full steam ahead on their annual free seed library, only with some changes in the name of social distancing.

According to a news release, the program starts on Tuesday, where participants can find bags with a variety of seed packets in each bag. The bags will be located in the front of the library on a book cart between the hours of 8-12, on Tuesdays and Thursdays while supplies last. Interested patrons are asked to limit 2 bags per family.

Martha Land manages the program and says, “It is our hope that your life will be enriched by growth, renewal and the beauty of nature during this time of social distancing and being at home.”  The library asks that growers save seeds from any plants that are grown and return them to the library for future use.

The HCCPL seed library is a free partnership program with the Christian County Master Gardeners Association and seeds are donated Master Gardeners Association, Superlawn & Garden Center, Hopkinsville Lowe’s, Walmart and Tractor Supply.
