The Naismith Defensive Player of the Year awards were announced today. The awards-presented by the Atlanta Athletic Club-were presented to Marcus Garrett of Kansas on the men’s side. Kentucky’s Ashton Hagans was a finalist for the second straight year. The women’s Naismith Defensive Player of the Year is Didi Richards of Baylor. Louisville’s Kylee Shook was one of the finalists.
The Naismith Coach of the Year awards will be announced tomorrow and the Naismith Player of the Year awards will be announced Friday.
