MLB announces pay for players and minor leaguers

It was announced Tuesday MLB veterans will be paid $286,500 in advance pay for the first 60 days of the season during the stoppage caused by the coronavirus, or $4,775 per day.

Meanwhile, players for the Bowling Green Hot Rods, Lexington Legends, Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds and Louisville Riverbats will get paid through May 31st. Minor league players will receive 400-dollars per week through the end of May if there are no minor league games before then.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred informed minor-league clubs they are officially suspending the season. He said he expects there will be minor league games this season, but has no projected starting date.
