Fort Campbell soldier diagnosed with COVID-19

A Fort Campbell soldier has tested positive for coronavirus.

Post officials in a news release say the individual, who is assigned to a tenant unit at the installation, is currently isolated at their off-post residence.

The individual has shown symptoms but has not required hospitalization.

Fort Campbell officials and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital health professionals ensured the individual was medically cared for and began conducting contact tracing to determine whether any others may have been exposed.

If anyone is determined to be at risk, they will be directly notified, according to the news release.

The patient marks the first confirmed case of a soldier being diagnosed with COVID-19.
