PACS still delivering, handing out meals to seniors during pandemic

Pennyrile Allied Community Services is still serving seniors across the region with meals during this pandemic.

Rachel Newman is the Director of Aging Services for PACS and says all home deliveries have continued in the nine counties and they are handing out hot meals to at the individual senior centers.

She says they’ve had many people volunteer to assist with meal distribution and some of those folks will be called upon as they eliminate the waiting list in the region for seniors age 60 and up who need a meal delivered to their home.

Newman says call the Pennyrile Area Development District if you are a senior and need a meal delivered to your home and call your local senior center if you plan to pick up a hot meal to go.

Multiple individuals and businesses have donated food, drinks and packaging trays to help make the meals possible.
