Ky. LRC staffer tests positive for COVID-19

A staffer for Kentucky’s Legislative Research Commission has tested positive for COVID-19 as lawmakers were prepared to return to Frankfort to approve a budget Wednesday.

Information was sent to LRC employees Monday saying the staffer is “recovering and doing relatively well, given the circumstances,” according to a Courier Journal story.

LRC Director Jay Hartz reportedly wrote that no decisions had been made as to staffing policies or a schedule for the General Assembly.

The Budget Conference Committee is scheduled to meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday and the entire General Assembly is set to vote on the budget compromise Wednesday.

Additional information on plans for going forward is expected to be released soon.
