A Hopkinsville man was killed in a crash in Logan County Saturday.
According to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to reports of a wreck on Franklin Road around 12: 30 p.m. Saturday. Investigation determined that a vehicle operated by 60-year old Clarance Winslow of Hopkinsville was traveling west on Franklin Road when the vehicle dropped off the right side of the roadway.
It side-swiped a guard rail and then traveled back into the roadway and down an embankment before striking a tree head on. Winslow was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Logan County Coroner. Drugs and alcohol are reportedly suspected as factors in the incident by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
The Russellville Police Department, Auburn Rural Fire Department, Russellville Fire Department and Logan County EMS assisted at the scene.
