Hopkins County up to 26 confirmed COVID cases

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hopkins County continues to rise and leaders there are urging residents to stay home.

Hopkins County Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield says the number of confirmed cases there went from 17 to 26 from Monday to Tuesday.

He says if you are sick at home and have symptoms that wouldn’t normally require medical attention, stay there to not expose anyone else to potential infection.

The judge says COVID-19 is not isolated to any particular part of Hopkins County. He reminds citizens to continue social distancing and frequent handwashing practices, as those are still the best ways to prevent becoming ill.
