An investigation by Hopkinsville police Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a local man for burglary.
Officers were notified of a suspicious person walking the halls of the Virginia Place on South Virginia Street a little before 2 p.m. and they made contact with 41-year old Michael McLendon of Hopkinsville. Several items that he claimed ownership of were located in the courtyard, but further investigation led to the discovery of a social security card that had been allegedly stolen from a Lindsey Drive home.
An arrest citation says McLendon admitted to going into the garage and he was arrested for second-degree burglary.
