Local woman hurt in South Virginia Street crash

A local woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning on South Virginia Street.

The collision report from Hopkinsville police says 44-year old James Childers of Clarksville had turned right onto South Virginia from 14th Street and then attempted to make a left turn from the right lane to park at the Williams Building.

He was struck by another northbound vehicle operated by 19-year old Catherine Rudolph of Hopkinsville, who was in the left lane. Police say surveillance video from Planters Bank was used to investigate the crash.

Rudolph was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for multiple, non-life-threatening injuries.  Childers refused a trip to the hospital.
