The Hopkinsville Public Transit System will be implementing some new rules to maintain social distancing on transit buses.
According to a news release, management officials have decided that beginning Wednesday, all Hopkinsville Transit buses will be limited to no more than 6 passengers riding in designated seats in accordance with recommended social distancing guidelines. The sale of bus passes will also be suspended at that time.
In an effort to protect drivers, riders will be asked to use exact change deposited in a designated receptacle to limit contact with drivers. A determination will be made on a later date about when normal operations may resume.
