Calloway County has its first confirmed case of COVID-19.
The Murray resident is an employee at Murray-Calloway County Hospital, according to a news release from that facility. The patient came into contact with an out-of-state visitor at University Church of Christ in Murray Sunday who would be diagnosed with coronavirus two days later.
The hospital employee followed protocols and informed supervisors that there had been contact with an infected person.
The employee was sent home immediately and was instructed to quarantine. A test performed on the hospital employee was positive.
Officials say the patient and their family are at home in quarantine.
