Cheatham, Robertson County, Tenn. have first COVID-19 cases

Tennessee has been hit harder than Kentucky, thus far, by the COVID-19 epidemic and there is now a confirmed case in Cheatham and Robertson counties.

Cheatham County Mayor Kerry McCarver says no other details have been released other than there is a case in his county. He says all Cheatham County government buildings were being closed to the public, but that courts there would continue to operate.

Kentucky’s court dockets have been reduced drastically since an order late last week from Chief Justice John Minton.

Pleasant View Mayor Perry Keenan issued a statement saying all of the Cheatham County communities have already been “taking proactive steps and measures in this ever-changing situation.”

He urges citizens across the region to continue with good handwashing and to heed the advice of experts for social distancing.

The Tennessee Department of Health announced the Robertson County case, with no other information available.
