Woman charged following high speed pursuit, crash

A Clarksville woman has been charged in connection with the high speed pursuit that ended in a collision Tuesday in Christian County.

According to a news release, Trooper Hunter Carroll attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reportedly speeding on the Pennyrile Parkway Tuesday afternoon.  The driver of the vehicle, 21-year old Antranice Phillips of Clarksville, reportedly refused to stop and increased her speed.

The pursuit continued onto I-24 and from there onto KY 115, where it ended in a head-on collision when Phillips attempted to pass a pickup truck that was turning left, striking it. Further investigation revealed Phillips was transporting a 4-year-old, who was not properly restrained.

Phillips was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, speeding and multiple traffic violations.

Minor injuries were reported, but no one required an EMS trip to the hospital.
