PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan announced this morning those who played in the first round of The Players Championship will receive money for their efforts. The PGA Tour will pay 50 percent of the purse equally distributed to the players. The purse was $15 million with $7.5 million to be distributed in the amount of $52,083.33 to each of the 144 players.
