Hideki Matsuyama was atop the leaderboard at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Matsuyama fired a nine-under par 63 in his opening round, including an eagle on the ninth hole. Harris English is among three golfers that tied for second at seven-under.
However, after first announcing Thursday plans to play the remainder of the event with no fans, the tour announced the suspension of events through the Texas Valero Open. Plans are to return to play the week of The Masters.
