Madisonville defends 2nd region championship

Defending champion Madisonville used an 18-6 second quarter run to defeat Webster County 73-58. Four Maroons were in double figures led by the senior duo of Kenny White and K’suan Casey who each had 20 points. Marquise Parker added 15 and Deljuan Johnson added 10 as Madisonville improved to 31-3 and won its 16th region title.

Webster County got a game high 27 points from Tyler Camplin and 11 from Zaine Geary as the Trojans conclude the year 27-6 and finish as region runner up for the second time.

Madisonville will meet 4th Region winner Warren Central at 11 am Hopkinsville time next Wednesday in the Boys Sweet 16 at Lexington’s Rupp Arena.

Following the game, the 2nd Region All Tournament team was announced.

Madisonville was represented by Kenny White, K’Suan Casey, Deljuan Johnson and Marquise Parker. Webster County was represented by Hunter McNaughton, Destin Allen and Tyler Camplin. Christian County placed Stephan Bussell and Mikeon Mathis on the team, UHA was represented by KJ Crump.
Other members included Jackson Shoulders and Tyler Perry of Lyon County, Preston Turley of Crittenden County, Xavier Bugg of Henderson County and Adarius Riley of Caldwell County.
